Get involved now!
We are looking to engage the Harpenden community in the preparations. You can get involved by either donating jigsaws or joining our group of volunteers putting the jigsaws together for display. And you will be able to follow progress on our Facebook page. Please get in touch if you are interested!
Tell me about the event
Harpenden’s first ever Jigsaw Festival is taking place on 4-5 June 2021 at High Street Methodist Church in Harpenden. Hundreds of completed jigsaws will be on display and for sale. The event is being organised jointly by High Street Methodist Church and Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. Proceeds from the event will be shared between two charities: Azalea in Luton and Workaid. |
What types of jigsaws will be displayed?
Hundreds of completed jigsaw puzzles will be on show forming a dazzling visual display. It will be like an evolving art exhibition, as individual jigsaws are sold, for others to be put in their place. There will be something for every taste: from Lowry industrial landscapes to the Sistine Chapel and maps to Spiderman. There will be jigsaws for every level of difficulty: from challenging and brainteasing Wasgijs and 2,000 pieces or more, to standard 500 and 1000 puzzles. And there will be lots of children’s puzzles too. Jigsaws will be from well known brands such as Ravensburger, Gibson, Wentworth and Jumbo, as well as from less well-known firms. |
What's the aim of the event?
Obviously we are organising an event for all jigsaw lovers in Harpenden and surrounding areas to enjoy, but we also want to engage the local community in the preparations for the Festival through donating and preparing jigsaws. Finally we wish to raise money for the charities |
Azalea is a Christian charity in Luton which reaches out to those trapped in sexual exploitation, supporting them in building new lives away from violence and poverty.

Workaid is a charity in Chesham, which collects unwanted tools, refurbishes them and then ships them to training centres, prisons and self-help organisations in some of the world’s most disadvantaged communities.

Is there a summary of essential information about the festival I could print off?
We have produced a leaflet containing the main things you need to know about the Festival. It can be downloaded below. It is designed to be printed double sided on A4 and folded to an A5 leaflet - your printer may have this functionality. ![]()
